Park Info

No bucket list would be complete without a road trip to incredible Uluru, the ancient, towering sandstone monolith which draws tourists from all over the world. Reaching 348m high with a circumference of 9.4km, Uluru is truly a sight to behold.

Base your stay in the region at Ayers Rock Campground, the closest and largest caravan park to Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park. This comfortable and convenient caravan park is just 20km from Uluru, with 400+ powered and unpowered campsites and a selection of 2-bedroom cabins available. Open year round and dog friendly on sites, Ayre’s Rock Campground is an excellent base for exploring some of the Northern Territory’s most iconic and culturally significant sacred sites.

For those arriving with the caravan, camper trailer or motorhome, powered and unpowered sites are spacious enough for a comfortable set up, with well-appointed and modern amenities nearby. Cook up a storm in the camp kitchen or BBQs, or take the shuttle to nearby resort restaurants and bars. Cool off after a day in the outback sun with a dip in the sparking outdoor swimming pool, and be sure to take the short stroll to the best local lookouts for the best views at sunset (or sunrise!). For extra convenience, there is a guest laundry and on site kiosk for snacks and last minute essential items.

Cabin accommodation offers two bedrooms sleeping up to six guests (double bed in the master bedroom and two sets of bunks in the second bedroom). Cabins have small cooking facilities and television, however please note amenities are shared.

Make the most of your time in Yulara and surrounds by starting your visit at the Cultural Centre. Learn about indigenous Anangu culture and the significance of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Delve into Aboriginal art galleries and shops, and spend time listening to the range of free presentations with Anangu and park rangers.
Set aside at least a day to explore the natural splendour of world heritage listed Kata Tjuta National Park on foot or by bike. Home of stunning domed rock formation ‘the Olgas’ – which in total are larger than Uluru – this is the Red Centre at its very best.

After catching the sun setting over the red earth, don’t miss the incredible Field of Light, a now permanent installation by artist Bruce Munro, which illuminates the desert as darkness falls. Bigger than seven football fields, the installation has over 50,000 spindle lights and will truly take your breath away.
